Well the lap band proved to not work out for me.....after losing almost 90 lbs, in October 2009, I got sick and started vomiting.  It wasn't from eating or anything to do with the band, my doctor thinks I got a touch of flu or something similiar.  I had to have my band removed after an xray showed it had slipped.  I tried hard at keeping the weight off, but here I am, 2 years later and with almost all of the weight back on.  Feeling frustrated and at a low point, I once again swallowed my pride and went back to my original bariatric center to seek their assistance in the sleeve.  I am now just waiting for my doctor's office to get everything submitted for insurance approval.  Ready and exciting for this second part of my journey to begin!!

Sorry it has been so long since I posted!  My bad!!  I have lost 76 lbs and feel wonderful!!  Can't believe what a difference this lap-band has made in my life!  I love it!!  And I feel this is definitely one of the very best decisions I have ever made in my life!  I have gone down from a size 24 (tight) to a very loose 18 in clothes and can't wait to go down even more!  Good luck to everyone out there!!  I am so thrilled to continue on this journey to a much healthier and happier me!!!!

I went for my follow-up appointment with my surgeon yesterday and I have lost 14 pounds since surgery!  They were very pleased as I am!  I feel really good and am trying to get back in the swing of things here at work.  This is my first week that I am back full-time and it is a busy one with end of the month reporting.  I am starting to notice some hunger in between meals and my doctor said it will be that way until I get my first fill on Dec. 22nd.  I am just going to try very hard to keep eating and drinking the way I have been.  I am on soft and pureed foods for another week and then will starting adding some solids!  I am so happy with my band so far and look forward to the year ahead and the changes ahead of me!

Hello everyone!  I did it!!  I am now banded and feeling better each day!  I had my surgery on 11/12/08 and had to stay overnight.  I did have the hernia that needed to be repaired.  I was actually glad to stay overnight as I didn't come out of recovery until almost 6:00 p.m. and with an hour drive home, I was happy to stay.  My surgery was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. but they didn't get me in until 3:00 p.m.  No one could get an IV started on me - it took 6 different tries to get a baby one started enough to get me to sleep and then they put in a bigger one once I was in the OR.  Kinda frustrating for my husband and I!  Both of my hands are bruised - look like a battlefield, but oh well, the main thing is that I am feeling good and looking forward to my new journey of life with my band!
