Well well where to start:) To make things short and sweet, I am a mother to 4 wonderful kids, 2 sons age 11 (got helped out with him) and a 1 year old and 2 daughters ages 6 and 4. They are my life, the very reason i do all that i do. I am married to my best friend and although we have our issues like every marriage, i love him. He is in the military and is overseas and will be home in October 2011. I am an RN for corrections and I LOVE IT! weird i know but hey it takes all kinds to make the world run.
When it comes to my weight, i have had some issues with it growing up. I never had major issues but got a little overweight in high school with my heaviest at 185. I lost weight and was at about 160 after that. I joined the army at age 17 1/2 and busted my rump to get through basic training and did very well. I maintained a healthy lifestyle and weight at about 150 lbs. It was not until I had my first child in August of 2004 that I became obese. I went from pre pregnancy weight of 155lbs to about 230lbs. I didn't gain weight again till my second daughter which i promptly lost and stayed at about 230 or 235lbs till i became pregnant with my son in August of 2009. I had complications and gained yet again. The day i had him i weighed about 272lbs and in December of 2010 at my 7month post baby and first visit to my new primary care doctor I weighed about 260lbs. This is the heaviest i had ever been, i had tried so many diets, exercised my butt off (not literally apparently!) and kept hitting walls. I talked to my doctor about the lap band, also had lab tests done and was diagnosed with hypothyroid as well. I attended my first orientation for the ALSA medical group regarding WLS and did all the pre surgical requirements they needed me to do, scheduled my surgery and now i am only a few days post op! I don't think it has hit me fully the dramatic change this is going to cause but i am living day by day and taking it slow. I feel good right now but i feel great and confident that my goal will be acheived! Thanks for reading my story!!
