I have been overweight since I was a little girl and now for the first time I am looking forward to start a new life. I started my journey last May when I went to visit a friend at the hospital who had just had the surgery done. While at the hospital I attended a seminar and after that I knew it was time for me to finally do it!! I wanted a different life, doing get me wrong I loved my life except for the being fat part. I want do be able to do all the things my family did without the worries of being fat.
After that seminar I scheduled my appointment with the Dr. and started my six months of weigh in (thats what my insurance required). I also scheduled a physical with my primary care physican which I hadn't done in I'm not sure in how long. I discovered my blood pressure was elevated and was put on medication for that. Well after six months of weigh ins my bariatric dr put in a request for my surgery and it was denied at first but they put in a second request and sure enough I was approved. I got the phone call from the nurse that I was approved and that we could schedule whenever I wanted. I couldn't believe it , it was finally happening. I was excited and nervous at the same time. So my surgery was scheduled for 11/27 which was 3 days after my birthday and I felt that it was the best gift I could have ever gotten.
