Still no movement on those $&*#&$! scales!  I've not been able to exercise for a bit since my knee surgery/rehab.  I'm going to PT 3x/week and hopefully I'll be cleared soon to get back to the gym.  I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another.  First the knee, then 2 days ago, I started to come down w/ a cold/sinus thing, and then yesterday, I broke a tooth!  I went to the dentist yesterday and I need a root canal AND a crown! Just what I friggin' needed!  I'm still trying to figure out a way to pay the med bills from my knee surgery!  I just wanna cry sometimes!

Had a very frustrating 3 months - last fill was NOT effective and that, combined with the start of menopause, I actually gained about 7 lbs.....grrrr! However, I was filled on 8.7 and I actually thinki this is the one that's taken me to my sweet spot! I got another 0.5cc and I'm now at 2.5cc. What a difference! Real restriction - yay!!!! Anyhoo, I'm down almost 4 lbs in the 2 weeks since my fill.... I'm on my way again!!!!

Still no movement on the scales....grrrrr! I'm thinking about going back to Weight Watchers and see if that helps at all. I have all the books, so I started tracking my food this week. Barely making my target for the day and I'm using hardly any Flex points and NO activity points. Am I eating enough???? Time will tell. Have a follow-up appt. next Monday w/ doc.

Got another fill today - was supposed to be on Monday, but doc couldn't find the port, so I had to go back today to have it done in x-ray. Have 2cc in my band now - I'm feeling it. Got full on soup today - imagine that!! That hasn't happened since...oh...week 2?? I've been working out at the gym 5-6x/week, so I'm hoping this fill will be the one that does the trick and get's the scales moving downward again. Gotta get some pics posted... Going on vacation, so it might have to wait until I get back. So hard to find a somewhat flattering "before" pic and I can't really see much difference at this point.

Been working out hard and keeping my calories between 1200-1500 per day - STILL NO MOVEMENT ON THE SCALES!! This is making me really pissed!

Had my dr/nutritionist appt today - scales hadn't moved in weeks and I had a mini-meltdown. I can't believe that I'm staying the same weight with what I'm allowed to eat. I mean - come on - I had to be eating at least 3000 calories/day before surgery and now I'm eating between 1200-1500 and the scales are stuck!! Give me an 'effin break! When I melted down, I thought the scales hadn't moved for 5 weeks, but in actuality, I lost a whopping 3 lbs in the past 6 weeks. Got another .5cc fill for a total of 1 cc. Don't go back for 3 months. Part of this is totally my fault, though! I've been lax about getting my exercise in. 2-3x a week isn't gonna cut it - I've got to get back to 5-7x/week. Ok, I'll quit bitching now! Oh - and the dr. hit the port on the first try this time...yippee!!

Had my fill today - geez, that was uncomforatable. Too many sticks (4) before she hit the target. OUCH! She only filled .5cc today and I go back again in 6 weeks. Was down another 3 lbs, making a total of 10 since surgery.

Had the day off, got up early and headed out the the dr/nutritionist appt. Well, imagine my surprise when they told me my appt was really NEXT week. Geez, am I blonde today, or what. I had it on every calendar I own that today was the day. Just being overanxious, I guess - I WANT THAT FILL!! Oh well, back home to do some homework before class tonite.

Had my first NSV today. It was our departmental pitch-in and the food was awesome and smelled heavenly! But, I resisted EVERYTHING!!! Woo Hoo!! I drove home for lunch and ate "my" lunch and ran a couple of errands. It felt great.

Had my 1-week follow-up appt today. So far, so good...down 6 lbs. I know I'm not supposed to be concerned w/ losing weight during the healing phase, but it's nice to see the scale go in the opposite direction for a change. I go back in 5 weeks for my first fill. Was told today that I can eat more than the 2 oz. per meal...Thank God! Sometimes I felt like I was starving!

Had all of my pre-op bloodwork/tests run today. Gee, you'd think in the 20 years since I had my first upper GI, they could get the barium to taste better. Yuck! Is it asking too much to have it taste like a margarita??

Officially started my WLS journey in July 2005, but started research much earlier. I had looked into RNY, but knew that I'd never be able to live that type of life...never eat sugar again!! NO WAY! I read everything I could about Lap Band, and when my Dr. suggested WLS, I went immediately to St Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence. Met with Dr Gupta - really like her. She lays it on the line; never promising that this is a cure, but only a tool to help us. Had a consultation, psych consult, and submitted my paperwork to Anthem. After 3 weeks and still no answer, I called them...they had no record of receiving my paperwork, even though I had a signed receipt from the post office. They allowed me to submit again via fax and I had an approval in another 2 weeks. Whew! Since then, it's been a whirlwind of getting the surgery date, pre-op testing, and nutritional classes scheduled. My surgery date is Nov 8, 2005 and I am more than thrilled. Until later!
