Almost 8 weeks

Nov 22, 2008

Almost 8 weeks out and I am feeling really good. I found out that the New Whey Protein bullets are not good for us to take. My NUT said they have a very low grade protein in them and that they are missing some essential amino acids. I asked because I was feeling so tired all of the time. I have switched to GNC brand Soy Protein Isolate. It's pretty good as long as I put a small dollop of peanut butter in it. I think it was the Whey that tasted so bad to me.

I have lost 52 pouns so far (65 since my highest weight). I am a very happy girl.

So I am now 1 week 2 days post op (GB) and I have already lost 16 pounds! I know it will eventually slow down a little, but I am happy that I did it.
I have had a difficult time getting in my daily protein. So I bought these New Whey bullets that have 42 grams of protein in 3.1 oz. They don't tast particularly good, but at least it's only a little bit rather than the nast protein drinks that would take like 5 hours to drink. I sit with a popsicle in one hand take a drink of the bullet then quickly put the popsicle in my mouts. I will have one and a half of these every day (spread out over 3 sittings) and that will get me a little over 60 grams a day. Then, when I start eating food, I'll add a little more protein.
I am very surprised at how quickly the pain subsides. I am in very mild pain right now only when I move in the wrong direction. I only had to take one day's worth of pain meds.
I have my first appt. with the dr. tomorrow and I think he'll move me into Phase 2. I am excited and terrified to eat food. I really hate throwing up, so I am going to go easy.
