It's been a little while!

Jan 07, 2013

In the past four months we have moved across country, I passed my 6 month mark, and I have lost a total of 80 lbs. I gained a couple back somehow and have hit a plateau, but I will finally be back to seeing a doctor within this month. I STILL struggle with getting in my fluids and protein amounts. I thought by now it would be a lot easier. However, I did give up on supplement shakes and I am ready to start giving them a go again kiss

EEk!

Jun 29, 2012

That's a good 'eek'. :) Just checking in! Still struggling to get everything in and deal with house and kids, but I'm feeling waaaaay better, so that's good! Between pre-op diet and surgery, I've lost almost 40lbs already! Who knows WHERE it's coming from, because I'm not really seeing much of a difference in the way my clothes fit, but that's ok. I'm going to try my darndest to get back to the gym next week. I've gone once since surgery and it WORE ME OUT!! I'm dying to work these muscles out!! Hope all you other OH'er's are doing well! :)

What they say is true!

Jun 21, 2012

Honestly, I never doubted it, but I also never could imagine HOW hard the first month is. I've cried, screamed, thrown things, had baby fits...I am JUST now able to eat things without getting esophogeal spasms. And JUST TODAY I found a protein shake I could ingest. Both of those issues left me practically anorexic....I didn't want to eat anything. That and the fact that I am SO bored with my options. However, I'm still not able to get in all the fluids and protein I need. I also hate my vitamins with a passion, so I'm hoping at my appt next week they'll let me switch to pills. Still so frustrated, but I think I am getting the hang of it finally!

One week out

Jun 06, 2012

It's been a week now since I went and got my RNY :) For the most part I can say I'm happy I did it, but boy, I sure wasn't ready for the emotional break-downs! Oh, and the hot flashes! Ugh.
I was feeling great on Monday, aside from a little gas pain. But yesterday and today I'm hurting! I'm blaming it on my 2 year old crawling over my belly in the middle of the night on Monday night/Tuesday morning. If I'm still this sore tomorrow I am calling my doc to make sure the toddler didn't do any damage!
I'm having a hard time getting in the amounts of fluid I need and the protein. I'm SO not used to worrying about ME. I feel very overwhelmed needing to take SO MUCH TIME for myself. Right now, it's okay because my husband is home, but what about when he's back at work?! I'm afraid things will get even worse.  :(

No better timing

May 12, 2012

I'm so miserable! Having a rough time shaving my own legs, putting on my shoes, and just trying to find things to wear! I have ONE pair of jeans; the rest of my wardrobe consists of workout pants. I can't wait for this surgery. I can't wait to utilize this tool. I can't wait to be comfortable in my own skin! Just a little over 2 more weeks! EEK!!

So amazed

May 04, 2012

Just sitting here pondering what all has been going on. I've been obsessing over other OH members before and after pics. I've posted questions on the forums. I'm doing this. I'm going to have a tool to help me get healthy. Finally!  This is just so fantastically amazing. Can't wait for this journey to really kick into gear. Not much longer! That's crazy! Before I know it I'll be in surgery! Obviously my excitement has gotten in the way of my organizational skills as I am not able to organize my thoughts into a normal paragraph :P

YEEHAW!!

Apr 25, 2012

Happy dance time! My insurance has approved surgery! I've been told it can be an average of 4-6 weeks from now. I can't wait!! I've already started working with a personal trainer to get a strength training routine down and am doing cardio at least 3 days a week. So hoping that'll help make a difference with recovery and initial weight loss. I'm now just waiting for the nurse at the surgery clinic to call me and tell me what's next in the process! EEK!!
Any thoughts?? I'm too excited to think clearly enough to ask questions :P

Crossing fingers...

Apr 23, 2012

My PCP signed my Diet History sheet and it has now been sent in to my insurance from the bariatric surgery center office. I just hope and pray it's all they need to go on with everything. I'm ready to get a surgery date scheduled!
