I, like most of you, have struggled with my weight for years.  My weight become a problem after I had children, so can't blame it on them!  I have been involved with Weight Watchers, Nutritional Weight Control, Atkins, South Beach, Richard Simmons, Phen - Fen etc....yes, I lost some weight, but gained it with always an additional 10 pounds or so before my next attempt at fad dieting. I was approved for the lapband in 2005, went through the motions, got my surgery date and backed out!!!  After attempting Weight Watchers, yet again...and failing.  I realized that losing weight was not going to happen for me unless I did have surgery.  I called my surgeon's office back, they resubmitted all my paperwork to the insurance company and it come back approved again... I didn't have to go through all the pre op stuff again, they used all my info from the first time, which helped in getting a surgery date quick!

About us:  My husband spent 20 years in the military and retired in 2002, we had the time of our lives traveling all over the place.  We are very passionate about God, the USA,  our wonderful military and the incredible troops who make up our military.    Our children were born in Louisiana (Ft. Polk, AJ, 1982) and Oklahoma (Ashley, Ft. Sill, 1988).  We met some life long friends along the way and call Oklahoma "home" as well as Maine.  We are originally from Maine, I am from Eastport and my husband is from Baileyville, also known as Woodland, in Washington County.  I work full time for our states Retirement System and go to school part time at UMA.
