Weight for me has been an issue a great part of my life. Even as a teen I "felt " like I was overweight. I was not by the numbers but since my friends were so much thinner thats what teens think. Now I would love to be 140 opunds and the size I was then.
I would describe myself as a fun loving, easy to get along with ( most of the time), family oriented ( they mean the world to me) wife.and mother of two teenage girls. The reason I have embarked on this journey is because I want to be healthy enough to see my great grandchildren and I hope that's many years from now.
My weight struggle really started when was 20 and diagnosed with Insulin depedant diabetes. Diabetes is a very sad disease if you don't keep it in check. I was placed on the insulin pump and because insulin is a fat storing hormone I ballooned up to 261 lbs. Not only did I balloon , I started to develop complications, like high blood pressure, chest pain and high cholesterol.
I am now 4 months post op lap rny, I have lost 63 lbs and 6 dress sizes. I am no longer taking insulin or blood pressure medicine. I think I actually saw a waist line today!!!!
