In the midst of Summer

Jul 09, 2010

Summer has begun and so has my weight loss.  I have been so happy so far with the results and really just feel like this is a normal way of life.  Within the last week or so I have begun to lose some of my hair but that could be due to not taking the vitamins like I should have been.  I am down to a size 18 bottoms and xl shirts from 24 bottoms and 2x shirts.  I went for my 3 month vist about 2 weeks ago and was told that I am doing well and keep up the good work.  I was a bit concerned with my blood pressure being so low, it was 88/56 but the PA didn't seem to concerned.

My new stomach is feeling pretty sore but it is certainly better then 2 days ago. The kids are grossed out my the drain that is coming out of my stomach, it is pretty sick.  I am excited to go to my first week apt. on Tues and have it taken out.  well, that is all for now.

Getting oh so close

Feb 26, 2010

so the date is soon approaching and I am starting to get nervous.  I am worried about what I may miss out on in life but think that there has got to be much that I am missing out on now.  I went to my physical/history yesterday and Tuesday went to the pre-op at Fairview.  During my weight in the secretary told me that we may need to postpone because I was up 5 pounds.  I have been eating more but also just got done with my cycle.  I was not too worried about the weight after meeting with the surgeon because he told me he has only canceled two surgery's and were for big reasons.  I so hope that I get to go through with this and I can't wait for it to be over so I can start my new life and the road to health.

The date has been set

Feb 02, 2010

so Friday I got the letter from insurance that told me I am eligible.  FINALLY..it has been such a long time coming and wow what a difference Fairview is then Gunderson Lutheran.  I had such a difficult time with everything there from start to insurance change that I think it was a sign that I was really meant to seek out another facility.  Finding Fairview has been such a blessing.  Everyone is always so helpful and make me feel the comfort I think I need to know I am going to be great at this!

As soon as that letter came, I was on the phone with Anna at Fairview to see what now...I had to scan the letter and send them a copy because they hadn't even received it yet.  Once I got that done, she called back and told me to pick a date...I have waited 3 years to hear those words.  So it is set..Mar 3 is going to be the day my life finally takes a much needed turn for the better.  I set up my pre-op, called and set up my history/physical with Clover and set up any other appt. I may need for this month since it is going to go fast with all the things the girls have going on.  I have decided to take off Mar. 3,4,5 and will have Shawna here the next week to watch kids for me so I can get used to this.

Now all the time I find myself fantasizing about what I am going to look like..I am so excited to start this process...YEAH!  I also have begun to tell some people, I didn't want to but all my daycare families of course concerned when I told them I was going to be having surgery so I shared with them what kind of surgery.  Hopefully, I don't feel the need to tell too many as I don't want people to get the perception or idea that I am taking the easy way out as some people tend to thin.
