Hello all, 1 year later and boy have things changed for me. I am 3 days post op today and I had the gastric band surgery. I initially was going after the RNY but with a lot of thought and research I decided that the band was a better fit for me at this stage in my life. My band was placed by Dr. LoMenzo at the Univ. of Maryland Medical Center. He and the bariatric team were wonderful and completely thorough.

Greetings fellow OH'ers, this is my first real post, WOW what a journey. I have been a member lurking in the shadows for over a year, almost two. I have finally gathered all the courage and knowledge to follow through with my wls. In two days I will have my last pre-approval requirement done, the egd ( i think that's what its called) the thing where they scope you to evaluate reflux and possible stomach issues. After that I expect to be submitted to the insurance and on my way to the new me. Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited.
