After I got my first pre-approval I failed to lose enough weight to meet the criteria to get the final approval. 

My insurance company dropped that requirement and I tried again and I got the approval.  My lap-band surgery is on March 15th. 

I talked to my insurance on Thursday of last week.  They gave me pre-approval for the surgery.

The 6 months of phone counseling starts today.  After the 6 months is up if I have talked to the counselor monthly and lost 16 lbs. I shouldn't have any problem getting final approval.

I hope the 6 months goes fast.  I'm ready to change my life.

I met with my primary physician today.  I was really worried that she would not be supportive of my decision.  She was great though. 

She's going to write the letter now to my insurance company (Health Alliance) to get approval to move forward.

Once we get the approval letter from them, I have to go through a 6 month counseling program called, "I Can Change," weigh in at my Dr's office 4 times in that six months, and lose 16 lbs.

It's weird that I have to lose weight before I'm allowed to have surgery to help me because I have a hard time losing weight.  But, oh well!!  I have made my decision and I am going to stick it through til the end.
