Well I'm almost 6 weeks out of my surgery and this has been a super hard time. Most of the time I wish I hadn't done it.  Everyone keeps telling me it will get better, but for some reason that seems far away. I'm doing ok, but I've only lost 13 pounds and I really expected to lose more. When I look on here alot of people have lost a lot more in the beginning, my Dr. said I'm right on track and I hope she's right.
Physically I feel fine, but mentally I miss food so much. It has been such a hard transition for me.  I also am having a hard time getting my protein shakes in. But so far my levels are good, so hopefully I'm getting it with my chicken intake.

Well I'm shocked to say that I received my authorization within 7 days. First from my Drs office to the insurance took 4 days then another 3 for the insurance company. And I was approved!!! My surgery date is scheduled for August 27th and I am so excited. It can't come quick enough.
I am down to 237 and am happy about that. I'm hoping to lose another 7 pounds before surgery. I've heard the more you lose the easier the recovery is. So we'll see.
I've been trying the different protein drinks and really haven't found one I particularly like. I'm trying out all the Isopure and stay away from the punch. uuuggghhh

Hi Everyone

I'm new here and I was referred to this website by my Drs office. I am starting the process of hopefully getting bypass surgery and would love to talk to other people that are starting out or have recently gone through this process.

I've been overweight my entire life and am ready for a change.  I'm scared, but I'm hoping this is the right path for me. I am currently 258 pounds and would like to lose over 100 pounds with my surgery.  This is a new start!
