i. am. APPROVED!!

Jan 12, 2011

Went to see Dr. Ameri and found out I was approved. Cried my eyes out in the middle of the office haha. Cannot believe it. I think it really hit me there and it will probobaly hit me again while I'm at the hospital. So happy. He also mentioned that he was gonna talk my insurance into covering the whole surgery so I won't have any out of pocket expences!! He is an amazing surgeon! I do have a couple questions I forgot to ask him yesterday so if you guys have any answers or input that would be fantastic :-)

*Do I have to take my peircing out? (monroe)

*Can I bring my own jammies?

*Can I shower the day of surgery?

thanks guys!!

C'mon Aetna!!

Jan 06, 2011

Ok...so, amazzzzinnnngggg news.....Dr. Ameri has notified me today that my file has been submitted to Aetna for APPROVAL.....that word "approval" has a different ring to it! I pray everyday that they will give me this surgery. I'm trying not to get my hopes up because it doesn't mean that it's deffinitley happening....BUT YEA we're going in the right direction. I did do my research online before considering to redo the whole process over. I am a part time bookeeper at home depot. I have come across other part time home depot associates that have gotten the surgery so that is good news! I also get about $122 taken out of my check every week to cover the insurance (which is the best insurance you can get as a home depot part timer). How long will this take? Dr. Ameri's office did mention Aetna is quick and doesn't give you a run-around. BUT, I've read different...Any input would be great!

PRAY FOR ME, GUYS!!!

MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY

Jan 01, 2011

Had a great New Years...Can't believe this time next year, I will be a whole different person.

So, Monday is the big day. Dr Ameri's office is suppose to call and tell me if I've been approved. So nervous and it still seems too good to be true. I just hope everything goes as planned. I don't think it will hit me till I'm being rolled in to surgery. I've never been put under before, but what from people have told me, it seems like you're under for seconds. I like that!!

Protein shakes are killing me. I must have tried 20 dfferent kinds and they all taste disgusting. My nutritionist was really mad at the fact that I couldn't find one to stick with. I really have to buckle down and pick one that's good for me.

I think I spent about 2 hours on youtube today looking at before and after pics and videos. I cry when I see them. I'm so happy for those people and I can't wait to be one of them.

Ok, till next time xoxo love you guys!!

First day of the new me...

Dec 30, 2010

This is my first entry....

I don't know if anyone will read this, but typing all my thoughts and feelings seems to make me calm.

I've been attemping to get WLS for about 2 years. The first time around my insurance at the time denied it. I was crushed. I felt that this was too good to be true. I figured it would never happen and I would be stuck in this never ending not working diet for the rest of my life. I eventually switched jobs that happend to be under Aetna Insurance. I lucked out. I did my research on the company insurance and found thousands of people who got it down under the same plan with little or no problems. I was thrilled. I felt like I was given a second chance to change my life around although it would be harder and longer because all my pre-requisites had to be done over....but I did it. I finshed up some blood tests on Monday and this morning, I got a call from my surgeon's office. They said that my file is complete and they were confident that this would be an easy and quick approval. I started crying right there. I felt this huge weight coming off my shoulders (although, it would be better if it came off my thighs :)

I just turned 24 last week. I'll be honest, weight hasn't been an issue my whole life. After my Senior year in high school, the weight piled on and has been ever since. I hate thinking that some stupid eating habits had made me so big, but it did. I made bad choices and never could turn my weight around. I tried every diet, pill, and program to make me healthy, but nothing worked until I heard about WLS and it turned out I was a perfect candidate. Young and Morbid Obese.

There is one last thing that I want to make perfectly clear....I'm doing this for me. I want to be able to walk up a flight of stairs and not feel winded, or run for more than a minute. I see it as what I will end up looking like as a bonus ;-)

I hope you enjoyed my first entry and I look forward to making new friends on here that can relate and I can confide in.

thank you for listening
H
