What a DIFFERENCE!

May 10, 2009

Spring shopping has been great!  While I'm still not at goal I do have lot to celebrate.  I'm down 152 pds since surgery on 4/2/08.  I can wear a size xlarge tee shirt, sometimes even a large!   Its so nice to not be limited to only PLUS sizes.  Although I still need plus size pants I'm finding more variety on the smaller end of the plus sized scale!  It's kinda scary to be inbetween plus and normal sizes, but exciting at the same time.

Looking back

Mar 29, 2009

As my 1 year anniversary is near I'm reflecting:
I've gone from a 30/32 to a 14/16.
I've lost a total of 147 pds.
I can walk long distances without my feet hurting.
I have so much more engery.
I believe in myself, that I can do this.
I actually belong to a gym and have a trainer!
I"m so much happier than I was.  I smile alot.
I love to take pictures now.
People look at me and not around me.
Men actually are checking me out again.
I'm forever changed, I got my life back.
I am extremely thankful for my surgeon, Dr. Noyan.
I will never weight 352 pds again in my life.
I will NOT fail.
This time I get it and I will change.
I can do it, I just have to believe in myself.
I can fit in a theater seat.
I can fly in an airplane without needing an extender.
I no longer have to worry about fitting in a booth.
My feet are less wide and smaller.
I've bought a TON of clothes over the past year.
I look foward to summer and buying all new clothes in smaller sizes.
This is the 2nd summer in a row that I will NOT buy a bigger size.  Whoohoo!  I'm on a great track!

Standing still, is it good?

Feb 17, 2009

Well after loosing a total of 144 pds I am officially stuck at the same weight.  January and February have been tough months. I'm still eating junk and never made it back to the gym.  So as a result I have been up and down with the same 5 pds the past two months.  It is my own fault, I shouldn't be complaining but it has been a tough few months.

No more excuses.  This is it, tonight I'm hitting the gym and getting back to being healthy.  I wanted to loose 60 more pds by May.  I wanted to buy a pretty little dress for my cousin's June wedding.

Acomplished a Goal

Feb 17, 2009

Well I'm just back from fabulous las vegas.  What a totally different experience this time around.  This was my first big trip since having WLS on April 2, 2008.

It started off with the plane ride.  I was actually able to fit in the seat and not touch the lady next to me.  The first time in years (probably 12) I didn't need to request an extender!  I was so excited I wanted to jump for joy in the isle.

While in vegas I walked the strip and my feet didn't hurt and I wasn't exhaused like I used to be.  I was able to keep up with 7 other girls all in their 20's.  Oh what fun!

Drinks are still a challenge.  After one I'm drunk and crazy.  My limit is still two a night.  I was able to return to drinking my fav fruity drink, a malibu bay breeze.

For girls night out we all had matching old navy tank tops.  I was able to fit into an old navy tank size xl!  What a hoot.  I thought for sure I'd need the xxl!  I even went to the store and tried the xxl on, it was TOO BIG!  Imagine that?  How exciting?

I actually felt normal, not having to worry about which plus size store I'd have to go into and try to find a hot pink tank to match all the other thin girls.  I'm almost there...I can smell it, but I'm inbetween plus and normal sizes in shirts, and still in plus size pants.

It is the little things that all add up and  make me feel so happy that I decided to choose WLS.  This trip made me really appreciate the changes my body has undergone over the past 10 months.

I'm finally living again!!!

Don't rule surgery out, it is a tool to help us all that struggle.

Holidays are Hell

Dec 21, 2008

Well it has been a very crazy past few weeks.  Ever since thanksgiving I'm having a hard time eating healthy and haven't had anytime for the gym!  There is a lot of temptation everywhere I turn work, parties, dinners, etc.  I can't wait until the new year so all the lucheons and cookies will end.  I'm still loosing weight about 5-10 pds a month.

Another Slow Down

Oct 28, 2008

Well after my last post I ended up in the hospital.  I had extremely bad stomach pain that ended up as a mystery, gas or bad food?  It was so bad I was admitted for one night, for observation.

Since the end of Sept I have been really slowly loosing weight....I'm up and down the same few pounds.  I did go and meet with my dietitian to get some good ideas.  I'm doing better and getting more protein down, but I still see the scale is standing still.....I hope it moves soon!

Loosing Myself - In a GOOD Way

Oct 15, 2008

I just realized today that within 6 short months I have lost 1/3 of my body weight.  No wonder why I'm having problems identifying myself in pictures!  What a feeling....priceless....

Who am I?

Oct 03, 2008

As I celebrated my 6 month anniversary yesterday I realized a few things:

I'm not sure who I am when I look in the mirror.
I'm down from a size 28 to a size 18 in only 6 short months.
I'm able to eat stuff that I'm not supposed to have.
I've lost a total of 117 pounds since I started my journey.
Skin is starting to sag on my inner thighs and arms.
I don't think my middle belly is ever going away.
Hunger has returned in the form of PAIN in my stomach.

What a year!  Looking back I wish I had done this 10 years ago!

Another Birthday

Aug 06, 2008

Well this birthday was very different than any other b-day I've ever had.  I turned 33 on Aug. 5.  Going out to dinner was not a BIG event.  There was no cake, no drinks, no endless snacks.

I'm 96 pounds lighter than I was last year and I feel like a new person.  I still have about 100 pounds to go but I'm enjoying life so much more these days!  I don't live to eat anymore.  I eat to live.  About dam time I did something for MYSELF!
