More than 4 months Out
Oct 21, 2011
Well, it has been 4.5 months since my surgery and I am still losing weight. My caloric intake is seemingly higher than others at about 1200 to 1500 per day. Despite that, I am losing a a steady rate of 1 pound per week now. I am 3 pounds from a 25 BMI (169) and 12 pounds from my goal weight. I am feeling fairly confident that i will reach my first goal of a 25 BMI, and hopeful that I will reach my goal weight. Only time will tell.It has been interesting because I have learned that I probably will never "dump". One day, I was feeling quite shaky and when I checked my blood sugar, it was dangerously low. We were travelling so I didn't have a lot of options except consume a part of a chocolate bar to see if that would raise my sugar. I did eat about 6 squares of a jersey milk and my sugar came up a bit. I never gave it any thought until afterward, but it didn't make me feel ill at all. I really don't want to challenge this again, but I think I am pretty safe to assume that I won't be a dumper. I am not sure if this is good or bad, but it is what it is.
