Dear Valerie: Even though we have not personally met, Im sure we have probably spoken in the chat room. Your angel has alerted us that your date is coming up SOON. So I wanted to let you know how much we will be thinking about you and praying for you. Even though you may not know it, there is a plethora of WLS members praying for each other every day. We've all been down the difficult roads together and try to stick together getting past this hurdle. Try not to be too frightened, even though it is a Major Surgery, the mortality rate is lower than all other surgeries so you can rest a little easier knowing that, I hope. Also, as most of us know, keeping the weight on; or losing and gaining yoyo living is MUCH harder on your body and more of a health risk than this surgery. Thank God he has seen fit to get you authorized and know we are all behind you. Your angel will keep us posted on your progress, but remember we will be thinking of you and praying for you daily. Most sincerely, ():o) K

Valerie, you sound so similar to what I went through. I to put it off for two years and then got totaly disguested with hearing the doctor have a fit about the weight and said whatever and did it. I wish that I would have done it two years ago!!!!!!! I feel so much better and it's only been four months. Hang in there , the first week is the worst and then smooth sailing. I'm praying for you. Valerie, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine in November 2000, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.
