I'm day 1 out of surgery.  I have walked 3 times, using my insentive spirometer.  Was on PCA dilaudid, it was discontinued today, to start on lortab elixir.  I'm sore in my upper abdomen, but the pain meds have helped. Got a little sleep last night off and on.  Ran a temp of 100 this am, doc is slightly concerned.  They took a urine specimen because my urine looked a little cloudy.  Sipping on water and using my timer.  The staff have been super, couldn't ask for better.  I may go home tomorrow if temp is down and drinking fluids well.  Glad it is over with.

I am trying really hard not to whine about this liquid diet stuff.  I just am really starving.  I'm ready to get this over with!!!!

I am about a month away from surgery, 2 weeks away from starting my liquid diet.  I'm sure my anxiety level will gain momentum when the time gets closer, but right now I just want to get the show on the road.  I am slowly getting back into an exercise routine so that I am in the best possible physical condition.  And I'm working on plans for post op, for child care, pet care, etc.  I'm waiting for my surgeons office to call me about my out of pocket costs of the surgery so that I will have my ducks in a row.  Kind of telling tale, I have been looking through my photos for a pic of me to put up as my avatar and I really don't have any.  Looking at pics of myself have become too painful.  I have some pics of about 5-6 years ago when I was pretty thin, I had been starving myself and working out obsessively, but that didn't last long.  Anyway, I'll update later.  Please, keep me in your prayers.
