I posted this on another WLS website a few months ago...I'm now about 190lbs.
Drs. Alejandro Lopez and Jaqueline Osuna did my sleeve on July 23, 2012 at Mi Doctor Hospital in Tijuana. I was fine just after the surgery but later that nignt became horribly nauseaus and that lasted for the next day and a half. When I was taken to the hotel I received my "after care" packet that included something like Milk of Magnesia to take before I took my oral dose of antibiotic. I started to feel better right away and by the next day I felt so good I decided to go home a day early. BTW -They tried a couple of different anti-nausea meds in my IV at the hospital but they didn't help.
At the begining of July I was around 225lbs, (5'10") today I am 207, I wish I had taken measurements before my trip but didn't have time or energy. Last night I spent about an hour trying on clothes in my closet that I haven't been able to get into for almost a year. I'm so happy!! I paid $4500. plus airfare from Houston to San Diego. Although I'm married I went alone because I didn't want to put my husband who is 6'4" through the cramped plane ride and sleep in a recliner at the hospital. I felt safe at all times from the time I was picked up at the airport to the time I was dropped off. The first night I spent in a regular room at the Tijuana Marriott, then at the hospital two nights and the last night back at the Marriott but in a much bigger, nicer room. I did not get international calling on my cell but I could reach the doctor's staff through the hotel front desk as they in constant contact with the doctor's office.
The only negatives of the whole experience for me was the nausea and the nail-biting ride to the airport for my return trip. The traffic/line was so long to cross the border I almost missed my flight but the driver got me to the airport in the nick of time and requested wheel-chair service which shot me to the front of the check-in line, security check line, straight to the gate and priority boarding. This was not poor planning on his part, they were accomodating my last minute decision to come back early. I spent the next day relaxing with my hubby and kids before going back to work that Monday. I'm very happy!!
