A little about me........10/23/06
Oct 23, 2006
Hi OH buddies!!
I love this site.....too bad I'm not so technically inclined....pretty bad for someone in the technology field :(
I'm a 38 (soon to be 39 at the end of the month) mom to twin girls, Gabrielle and Elizabeth. The girls will be two on November 29th. My dear husband, Chris, also has a 16 yo daughter from his first marriage.
I had RNY laproscopically on March 6th of 2006. Complications, yes. Regrets, no. I am now 148 from 241 and rid of sleep apnea and high blood pressure. Yes I had a small bowel obstruction 12 days post-op and yes I just had an intestinal hernia repaired Oct. 2nd and yes I've been scoped twice for possible ulcer, but, I'm still pleased and would do it again in a heartbeat. Just a reminder to all pre-ops and post-ops for that matter, listen to your body, get to know your pouch, and if anything feels "just not right" call your surgeon. Never try to tough something out, or feel like you don't want to bother someone. One thing is for sure, our bodies are different and "special" after surgery, and we deserve special care and attention.
With that being said, this has been a wonderful journey, and it truly is a wonderful tool. As I write this, I know that I could not have succeeded like I have with Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. The tool is so empowering and it makes me feel proud of my acheivements and my lifestyle changes that I have made.
Who would have thought this sweet eater would have given up on sweets? Who would have thought this junk food junky would go without fast food (aside from salad)? Speaking of salad, who would have thought I would eat salad with grilled chicken for lunch almost everyday and love it?
Most importantly, who would have ever thought of doing this journey with out the help and loving support of the OH community? Not me!!!! I am indebted to this site each and every day and I look forward to reading about everyone's experiences.
Thanks and God Bless,
Karen
