"I met Dr. Fox 1 day before my surgery. I had all of my pre op sessions with American LapBand Institute of America, in Dallas. The lapband clinic was a roller coaster ride. One time good, the next time really bad. I assumed that going to a large city would assure me professional office staff. I was wrong. I did contact a lapband advocate with the clinic. She was able to inform the office manager of my problem and she took the bull by the horns and the rest of my visits were okay. Because i complained, the office staff took 3 weeks to submit my form to my insurance. My friend that was with me from the beginning of this journey, had her paperwork turned in within 3 days.. and approval within 1 week. So, they think they jerked me around, but i did get the approval.
Dr. Fox's office staff are 2 of the sweetest and nicest ladies in TEXAS.... And i loved Dr. Fox. He made sure that we knew what we were in for and what to expect. I had my surgery and he was so very patient to answer any last minute questions and he's called to check on me as well as his office and the hospital staff. I feel pretty good 4 days out of surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Louis Fox to anyone,that needs lapband. I feel prepared for my journey. I know that I am the one that is responsible for my progress, in joint venture with my Dr.s program and long term plan. Someone at the office appt. with him, made the comment that the ALBIA had the best staff... He said "Well, that's a first"... i just laughed, because they were far from the best. Amanda was awesome. MM.. was not... she is a very unprofessional young lady that needs to work a few grunt jobs to truly appreciate the role she plays in the lives of patients that are in dire need of help.I woke up from surgery with a lot of belching. Dr. Fox kept checking on me, then he came in and announced he was taking the fluid out of my band. I called him the next morning, begging him to let me come by and let him refill the band. He talked me down off the ledge, lol... He informed me that i need to let my body adjust to the changes it is going to. So I agreed with him and i look forward to my first fill and my office visit in about 4 weeks. "
