Hello.
I have been battling a weight problem since early childhood. I have tried all the diet pills, dieticians, dr. advised weight loss programs, going to the gym and new fad diets (south beach, atkins, grapefruit, etc.) with very little success. If I did suceed at losing 10-20 lbs they would always come back and bring friends. My last diet attempt, the special prepackaged food and vitamin supplements, I lost 110 lbs (and my hair) in 8-10 months. I almost reached my goal weight and decided I could do it on my own and lose the last 10 lbs, well that didn't work so good. Since then I have regained all my weight, plus some. I pretty much gave up on the whole dieting thing.
I haven't any of the real bad co-morbid complications, yet, but have been advised that I would develope diabetes within a couple years. I do have acid reflux, daily that usually has me up around 3 am vomitting. Yea. I have been depressed since my early teen years and have been on meds ever since and going to a pyschotheoropist because of it. My depression has recently got a lot worse because I have developed planterfascitis in both feet accompanied by heel spurs. So, I'm constantly in horrible pain and can only walk a few feet before having to sit. I recently started physical theropy for it and am very optimistic that I will be up and running soon. I've had asthama since 10 years old and that made exercise difficult, but I do attempt it.
A couple months ago I decided it was time once again to lose weight. Except this time I'm going for surgery. I am very dedicated to doing this.
