Hello all,
I am 49 and a lifelong diabetic. I am totally blind, have a kidney transplant from 1983 and pretty much live life as it comes.
I am married to a wonderful man who is self-employed. He fixes all the great big electrical thingies in the really big power plants and I stay home where it's safe and I do all the office work, thank God! I use speech software called Jaws, which allows me to do all that I can on the computer and internet.
I was a small framed girl during my teens and 20's, but started to gain weight around my 30's, after I went blind and went through the kidney transplant. From there, things went downhill, I ended up leaving my hubby then but have married a wonderful man now, so maybe it wasn't such a bad deal after all!
I am just beginning this journey at 225; 5'5" and BMI of 37.4. I have *lots* of health issues, including but not limited to diabetes Type 1, joint problems, apnea,. high blood pressure, high cholesterol, apnea and a few others that I can't recall at the moment. I have not decided for sure yet if I will do the lap band or the GBS, but should know soon after speaking with the surgeon.
About me... I have a beautiful little Goldador, which is a half lab , haf golden retriever as my guide dog. Her name is penny and she is a sweetheart. Love her to death. I play flute, guitar and keyboard. But, I just had some hand surgery so that will have to wait a while.
I also design and create my own jewelry and make baskets according to the time of year or the holiday. My company name is . .. are you ready for this? "Mind's Eye Creations" I think that is so cool and just says it all about who I am and what I am about. I am a grandma 3 times over through Earl's daughter and am called "Me maw Lynn" I love it~! Well, I am going to stop this now and maybe finish it later. I have had a long day, what with the seminar, a few disappointments along the way and just every day diabetes stuff. I may add more later. God bless to all of you who are going through this in one manner or another.
