Hi all.  Well iIhad my surgery on the 03/08/08 all went well they gave it me lap instead of open as I had been told I would have it.   All was ok for 2 days they I started to bleed from my bum when i went to the toilet fist time the said not to worry, but when it happened again at 5 am they fetched the on call doctor and he said to monitor me and he took blood(after a struggle for an hour) later that morning had to have a rectal exam with 7 people watchingbut at that point iIwas so worried I did not care.  I had dropped 5 points of heamaglobin (sp) so had to have an 8 hour blood transfusion. had to stay in hospital a further 3 days after.  since coming out have been fine, liquid diet is a pain but getting through it. good luck to you all with what ever you are doing . Hi all.  Just one week to go now before the big day.  I am getting very worried now, I keep thinking about all that can go wrong, it's not good to dwell on the negitve I know but it's there in my head.  Milk diet is harder than I thought it would be.  Seeing others eat is hard.  On the up side I weigh  349.5lbs as of this morningthat's 34.5lbs lost forever.  Take care all Gemmaxxxxx

I went to my local hospital yesterday for an appointment as I was rang by the Specialist bariatric nurse on Wednesday morning to ask if I still wanted the surgery(I was refered last year but could not get funding on the NHS)  I was like "yes of course I do, why are you asking me " she said " we have some money available for surgery and you fit our criteria would you come for a pre-op assessment on Friday afternoon" I said "YES!" so off I went yesterday, and the out come is that they will do my bypass and TT at a later date. I am so so happy I will be a loser and a winner.  My highest weight has been 384lbs I am at 361lbs today and hope to lose bit more by surgery day. Thanks for reading. take care all xxxxxxx
