I have a consultation booked at the Guelph clinic on November 25.  I was feeling really good about this appointment until I have heard from two sources that the surgery wait time is 2-3 years.  I started this process over a year ago in Michigan but my family doctor would not approve a U.S. clinic.  One of my best friends had the surgery in Michigan and has lost 97 pounds.  We were going together.  I am struggling!  I wish I had the money just to pay to have the damn surgery.  I want to be able to go on the rides with my kids next summer, play at the Y and be active.  I am feeling somewhat angry at my family doctor and discouraged that I may need to wait for 2-3 more years!  I have left a message at the Guelph clinic and I will wait to see if they call me back.  I also called the Bariatrix clinic in Michigan and they let me know that OHIP no longer allows patients to have the procedure done in the states.  UG!!!  Why can't I succeed on my own with losing weight?  I guess that is the million dollar question!
