I visited Sheila this afternoon. She was in surgery for around 3 hours. The original plan was for a lap RNY but once they got started they decided to do an open RNY and also removed her appendix because it was perforated. She is spending tonight in ICU which I think is routine at Mayo if you have sleep apnea. She seemed to be doing pretty good but was really groggy as expected. I plan on visiting again tomorrow and will try to update tomorrow evening.

Hi Sheila! Congrats on your surgery tomorrow! I bet you are excited! Try to get some sleep tonight! LOL! Just hang in there! I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!
