Well, lets see, where to begin? I have been overweight most of my life. I was really thin in high school. But after college, I started gaining and gaining. Then with asthma and being on Prednesone so much i really had a problem. That weight doesn't like to come off. I have done Weight Watchers ( with temporary success), I have done Atkins, I have even been sent to Miriam Hospital for their weightloss program - Modified Optifast. I had great success with that. I had lost 60 pounds on that program until I got severe cramps from the shakes. Then they took me off the program cold turkey. Normally, you are supposed to be weaned back onto food with a replacement from the shakes. But not me! I became a "carbo junkie". I ate carbs like i was starving! Even when i knew my stomach could hold no more, I still shoved it in my mouth! It was awful. I cried even as i stuffed my face! Needless to say, I weigh much more now than i did when I started that program!
I now have not only Asthma, but Diabetes II, HTN, high cholesterol, and what not. I am on so much medication i can't stand it! I really have to get this weight off. I am hoping to have the lapband operation. I went to the seminar and have been really soul searching this option. I am really nervous, but i really need to do it. I have an appointment with the surgeon on July 28. Meanwhile, i am going to try to get the other tests done and out of the way. I will up date as i go along.
