Geez, this vicious cycle of weight battling has been going on for years. I can remember being in 6th grade and having to be weighed for someone's science project. I weighed 130 pounds then and continued to grow larger and larger. I was always active in sports, so I was healthy. Once I got into college, I didn't stay active anymore and the pounds packed on.
I have always had the idea of having surgery in the back of my mind, but didn't feel I was ready for it until recently. My doctor said she knew I would do it, I just had to do it on my terms. I figured, I beat cancer, so why let all of the other health issues get the best of me?
I have my first consultation on December 31st, and wish I could make things happen faster.
