Well, maybe I'll get one in once a month... LOL Things are going well. Still not a big fan of eating meat. Hit the over 60 lbs lost target and exercising more. Just went through my closet and had to get rid of the majority of my wardrobe because its too big for now. It brought up some emotions that were different than I expected. I wasn't excited, I was sad, ashamed, mad at myself. Sad because I felt like I was losing some of my identity, ashamed and mad because I can't believe some of the clothes I kept (the size, torn, bleach stains, etc.)
I was able to recognize why I was having those feeling... thank goodness for therapy! 

Also kind of sad because I don't have the budget to go buy new ones and there aren't many places to shop for clothes in Key West unless I want to pay alot. I'm looking forward to my doctor appt in Miami next month so I can find some real stores!

Haven't posted or been on OH in awhile! I think I needed to go thru my adjustment period and have been so surrounded by weight loss and recovery in my everyday life that I needed to check out of the online world while I was going thru it.
Surgery went well, most painful part was the unexpected hital hernia repair and that pain only lasted about 3 days. Scars are looking good, I'm feeling good most of the time. I really don't like eating meat now which is not a good thing when it comes to getting my protein in. Been walking and walking and today finally got off my duff and went to the gym. Got on the elliptical machine and the bike. Found out that I have a ways to go when it comes to working out! LOL

 Shake shake shake... Shake my optifast! Well, here I am on my 5th day of my preop diet and I'm hanging in there. I can't say it's been terrible but my second day was rough. Had a bad headache that afternoon and then came the upset stomach or more like upset colon... LOL
The only strong craving I've had is for the taste of salt because just about everything on this diet is sweet: Vanilla, Chocolate, or Strawberry optifast, sf jello, crystal light and the only non sweet: water. I'm hoping by avoiding salt for 2 weeks will help me not want to use it as much post op because I tend to over use salt.
I have to lose 20 lbs by March 5th when I go to the doctor's office for a weigh in before I have surg on the 6th. They say they will cx surgery if someone does not reach their pre op goal weight so I must stay diligent, stick to the preop and walk walk walk!

and Tuesday will be here and I'll be on liquids x 2 weeks before my big day! There have been some wacky moments mainly of miscommunication between the Naval clinic I go to here in KW and my surgeon's office in Miami.
Latest one happened yesterday:  The Miami office called my clinic after my preop labs, etc had been faxed. They needed the doctor approval letter (that he had looked over labs etc) but my clinic forgot to fax that AND my doc is out of town until next Tuesday. Then they said they were going to cancel my surgery if they didn't get it in the next 20 minutes because my surgery was scheduled for this coming Tuesday.... uhhhh, no.... it's not until March 6th. Luckily someone that works at the Naval clinic lives across the street from me (hubs works there too) and he came to ask me when my surgery date was and told me what all was going on. He called the Miami office and of course by that time they had figured out they were mistaken.... DUH! Just happy to live in base housing and have a neighbor that doesn't mind making house calls... LOL 

APPROVED FOR SURGERY! WHOOT!! March 6 here I come!  I have also been cutting down carbs and lost 4 lbs in the past week. Next Tuesday (Feb 21) I have a pre op class at my doc's office and will start Optifast for two weeks leading up to my surgery date.
