Roxanne Davenport

"I met Dr. Davenport today. She was so nice. I arrived at the office a little late because I don't know Roanoke very well. When I arrived the receptionist said that she had been trying to call me to cancel the appt. because Dr. Davenport had been is emergency surgery this morning. Since they couldn't get me, she said that the doctor was going to see me anyway, since she had just arrived at the office from the hospital. A nurse took me back and weighed me, took my blood pressure and asked some questions. She took me to a room, told me what to do and what the doctor would do. Dr. Davenport came in and was very easy to talk to. She seems to genuinely care about people and asked me lots of questions. She answered all of mine satisfactorily. I then had a conference with her in another room, where she explained the different procedures and answered all of my questions. She was very honest and told me about possible complications and her track record with patients. She took me out to a secretary to schedule the post-op work, the psychologist visit and the visit with the dietician. I cannot stress how very nice everyone was at this practice. I feel confident that they will do anything they can to help me. I told them my insurance was Carilion and they said there should be no problem getting everything okayed. Dr. Davenport even said that we want to make sure we do everything right so that I don't get stuck with a bill and that it was an expensive surgery. She was pleased that I had done a lot of research before reaching my decision and said that the dietician would go over all of the changes in eating habits I would have to make. She also told me about patients who "beat" the surgery, etc. She was very honest and upfront."
