2nd year surgiversary

Jul 05, 2009

Well it has been a year since I posted to my profile;  I swore I would
keep it updated but as you can see I have not. Life is just too busy I guess.

Two years ago today I was in surgury:  My Independance day holiday
has taken on new meaning thats for sure!

Sitting in church this morning I thanked God for a complication
free RNY and the new life I have found since then.

My circle of friends has become so large.  That is the one
thing I don't mind seeing get bigger all the time. LOL

Thru online support groups, hospital support groups and my
membership at the gym I have made many dear friends that
I also thanked God for this morning!

Health wise I am doing well :  off the 5 medications I started with.
I do have to take coumadin therapy but that is not WLS related:
its heredity!

I still have more weight that I would like to lose but at least I am
not GAINING!  That is due to my being a " gym rat" I am sure.

When I had surgury I wanted to get off my meds ( mission accomplished)
be able to fly ( mission accomplished) go parasailing ( mission accomplished)
and just have more energy so that I did not have to go straight home from
work and go to bed.

So thats about all for now!.  Thank you for reading my profile.

ONE YEAR POST OP REFLECTIONS

Jul 05, 2008

Well its been a year today ; unbelievable to me.
one year ago today I was scared to death
laying on the table getting prepped and I said
to my mother  " I cann't do this; get me out of
here now"  well thankfully my parents didn't listen
to me .  I have posted some new pictures along
with some pictures taken today of me wearing
my largest size clothes:  don't look if you are
screamish.  I took some pictures that will
let you all see why plastic surgury is in my future.

Healthwise Everything is great :  No meds
at all other then the vitamins and supplements
that we all know will be part of postop life.

Had no complications whatsoever.
as of today I am 115 down and
about 45 to go till I get to a weight
I can live with;  My dream goal is another
75-80 Lbs.

People who knew me before can not get over
the changes in me : not just physically - I
am "glowing" as one person told me LOL
I am an all around happier, healthier woman.
I spent today with an old and dear friend who
this time last year I could not go visit:  why
you ask : because she lives in a three level
townhome:  today was the first time in the
five years shes lived there that I saw her
upstairs bedrooms.  I also learned the hard
way that my pouch is still working .  I ate
corn of the cob ( a big ear) - and a bacon
cheeseburger:  sure enough about five
minutes after I finished I was running for the
bathroom :  fortunatly shes had WLS herself
and understood:  anyway no more full ears
of corn on the cob for this girl.

People have asked me if I have any regrets
and I must admit to only one:  That I did not
have the courage to do this 10 years ago:
I wasted so much of my life -  but thats
in the past and I look to the future these days.

In the near future I am going on the cruise to
lose -  I bought two blouses today at Walmart
( drumroll please )   Size 16-18  down from a
tight 32-34.   The shorts in the picture I posted
today I bought a month ago -  and yes you will
notice they are getting BAGGY.

I will stop my rambling now and thank
you all for reading this:  The support
from the board has been fantastic and
I just want to say I love you all from
the bottem of my heart.

To the recent postops and preops who
may read this:  take heart- The first
month or so is rough but brighter
days are coming.

God Bless us All ( i know he has blessed
me this past year)

1st Birthday Dinner Post Op

Nov 18, 2007

Well I decided to post some pics taken yesterday on my 45th Birthday.

Dinner was an adventure thats for sure:  It was so cold that when the waiter said they had Chix Ndl soup I just had to get a cup.  I then ordered
an 8 oz. prime rib and baked potato.

The soup went down fine but left me too full to enjoy the rest of my dinner.
I had about a quarter of the potato and a couple bites of meat and
had the dreaded feeling of foamies starting.  I made a very dignified
exit from the table;  rapidly walked to the ladies room and  spent
a few minutes trying not to get sick.  I did not get sick but  was
unable to eat anymore of the delicious potato and meat:   Sigh I guess I
will attempt a little of them both tonight.

But you know what :  its OK :  I feel better then I have in years and
I guess this just means the surgury is doing what its supposed to do .  I just need to think smarter and skip the soup next time

2 month update

Sep 09, 2007

Yep:  I cann't believe it but there are the facts:

Feeling wonderful:  exercising my butt off LOL.  I joined the MAC
and can be found there most every weeknight and Saturday and Sunday
afternoon.

Life is getting better everyday.  I don't feel like eating much but
do try and get the protein and fluids in everyday:  fluids are the worst.

I thank GOD everyday for DVR and this tool to take control
of my health and life.

So till next time :::::::::::::::

BACK TO WORK TODAY

Jul 30, 2007

Well: its been 25 days so I am going back to work today.
So very happy:  Feeling good and no complications.

6 Days Postop

Jul 10, 2007

Well:  I am feeling better everyday and getting antsy;  not used to not working I guess.  So today I will start doing a few things I have needed to do
at the house but never got around too.  I have 2.5 closets of clothes
to get sorted.  I know I have everything from 2-5x  ( 22-32) .  My plan is to sort them so as I go down each size I can just head to the goodwill; donate what I have and check out the selection of clothes in the smaller sizes; plus I will have some kind of idea of what I have and what I will need to buy.

I also have a double dresser to sort the clothes as well.
I also have a ton of papers to sort: paystubs, bank statements,
credit card statements etc.  Geez I getting tired just thinking about it.

Another project for the day is getting an eye exam:  somehow in all
the excitment this weekend my glasses broke; Mom tried to get them fixed but the frames are three years old and discontinued .  So I have
spent the last 4 days wearing sunglasses LOL

Have not lost any weight per say yet but it will be a bit
difficult to tell LOL  They did not weight me in the hospital surgury day.
So we will have to go with the preop appt weight of 349.5 Lbs.  Yesterday
I was 351 but the Dr. says thats normal to gain weight :  the fluids the hospital buts in you.  I will make a seperate post for the actual surgury
info,  I have posted some pictures I allowed Mom to take the morning of the surgury.
