March 24th update
Mar 24, 2008
Well it's been just over two months now. I have lost 28.7 lbs since surgery for a grand total of 62.7 lbs. I am now able to buy clothes in the regular dept. I went from 26/28 (3x) in shirts to a large regular, and my pants went from 22-26 waist to a 16 regular. I am very happy with my progress so far. My next goal is to break 200lbs. I have not been under 200 lbs since my first born-and she is about to turn 33!! Only 6 lbs to go to meet this new goal. Looking forward to getting outside to walk, the weather is starting to improve here in Buffalo, NY. I will see my youngest daughter next week when we visit in Arizona, she has not seen me since Thanksgiving, so I am excited yo see her. I will see my other two daughters on July 4th weekend. I treated myself to a new hairstyle, "hightlights" and I now get my nails done at a salon. Its funny the little things that make me happy now. The people at work tease me about "melting", and I found a great new store here "Bonworth" that sells great quality clothes for very low prices so I don't feel bad about splurging on some new things once in a while. When I went into the dressing room with a pair of x-tra large pants the lady said "o'h those will be way to big, you'll only need a large". I asked her to repeat herself!! and had a great laugh. Beginning weight 268.7, current weight 206.0. Life is Good!
Two Weeks Out!
Feb 05, 2008
Well today makes two weeks since surgery. I feel great, and have easily progressed to soft foods. I have only had two problem food items: 1) sugar free cocoa, 2) Taliapa fish. But the fish was cooked in a fry pan with olive oil, I had such pain I though I would die. Guess I wont try fish again for a while and make sure its baked or broiled. I had some roasted chicken (1 oz) and that was just fine. I will be going back to work is less than 2 weeks though and I'm worried about how to pack my lunches??? My weight when I first applied to the comprehensive weight loss program was 268.7, they started my on the south beach diet in October and dropped to 234, I am now 223.1. Clothes are getting looser, and my excitment is starting to rise. My surgery had one comlication, the doctor found a large umbilical hernia which needed repair prior to continuing with the bypass so that slowed my recovery a bit, but I"m ready to move forward and get back to my daily grind.
