I have a date with a surgeon!

Oct 06, 2011

I'll admit, once my surgery was approved by the insurance and a surgery date was scheduled, I was nervous that all those 'last' foods would kick in.  You know, this is going to be 'my last piece of birthday cake' or this is 'my last slice of pizza'.  Before my first gastric bypass, once I had a date, it was like all the good food had been put on Death Row.  WRONG ATTITUDE!!!  All that did was to add 60 pounds to my frame before my surgery.  I nearly had a meltdown when I stepped on the pre-op scale and the numbers finally quit spinning at 603.  Yes, 6 - 0 - 3.  I was beside myself.

Now, I'm putting all that behind me and heading into my surgery with both guns blazing.  I'm not letting myself hold me back.  I am excited about my surgery date.  I'm excited to have my gall bladder out this time, as I've developed stones in the 11 years since my first surgery, and those tiny little stones have been a big pain in the abdomen.  I'm ecstatic thinking about all my upcoming firsts.
