4 Months (almost) out

Jan 20, 2008

It is so hard to believe that is has been almost 4 months.  This is the best thing I have done for myself ever.  Today even though it is not a normal day for me to wiegh myself I had to I am at 172.  Oh my soon I might get to the 169 mark.  I still have about 30ish lbs to go.  But it does not seem to want to reduce in the middle as much I would like.  But I guess two kids and a long time being round in the middle will take time to see that it is smaller.

I am low on Iron and Potasium but I am working on that, and the hair falling out is not great.  But I know that all of these things can be fixed.

I would not change a thing.  I know I feel better and others tell me I look better so I will go with that.

We are planning a trip to VA in June I have not seen my family (sisters) in years and my parents last year when I was almost at my highest so I am not sending them pictures it will be a surprise.

6 Week Check up and Great News

I hope your all do not mind but I need to share. Today was my six week check up.  I had a lap RYN 9/26.  I have lost 36 lbs and feeling great.  Well that is not the big news.

For the past 8 years I have been fighting high colestrol and triglysorides (sp)  Colestrol they could not even give me in July because my triglysorides were over 800.  I was around 300 colestrol and 500 triglysordies in the past and have been on and off lipitor, tryclor and many others.  The reason I have been on and off is because I hate to take pills...  So I do good for a while and then I stop taking them and really never reduce my numbers.

Well today I am at 146 for colestrol, and it needs to be below 200, and I was below 200 in triglysorides which in range.  My Iron was also low before surgery and now it is in range - so I am doing something right.

This surgery is great, and it is really helping me.  I know I have a way to go for goal but this was great news for me.....

Thank you for letting me share with you.  Shellie  Post Date: 11/9/07 7:31 pm

Two Weeks Out and a Minor Set Back

Nov 11, 2007

Well I had a set back.  I was having pain in one of my insisions this week.  It started Saturday, I thought when I rolled over in bed I pulled something as I am just over three weeks post op.  The pain continued and it got swollen.  It hut to stand up, sit down and especially to bend over.  It did not turn red and hot until Thursday afternoon.  So first thing Friday of the Surgons office.  Well it turns out to be a boil in the insision and it was and still is infected.  The numbed the area and drained it, but I can not even walk as all it does now is drain.  I am two antibiotics (sp) which the parmancy even though I told them about my surgery gave me one I could not swollow and could not crush and had to go back, my fault for not checking before I left.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? How long will the draining go on for?

I am feeling a little better and the surgon that I saw (not mine as he was out of town) said it was a minor set back and I will feel better soon.  But it is so deppressin as my tummy is swollen, I can not get on any pants with a waist band, it leaks when I walk and I feel so helpless.

Sorry had to spend a moment just getting it off my chest to see if that would help.

Take care all,,,  Shellie
