dottie, i can relate to you!!! i'm a single mom of a wonderful 8 year old, and sometimes at night when she is sleeping i wonder what it would be like for her if something happened to me.. i wonder if she would still have lots of laughter in her life, or if she would dream of me when she's sleeping... i could go on and on, but the reality is that right now she's probibly dreaming of her mommy playing soccer with her, or going sledding....sigh... so this is why i've decided to have my surgery... goodluck to you and remember God has a plan for all of us... God Bless

Dottie - I forgot to mention that I am in Birmingham. Dr. Clements is my surgeon. So, I can definitely relate to not being able to get in to see him OR Dr. Laws!! I see that you do not have an angel yet. If you want one, I am volunteering. I am only about 15 minutes from Alabaster, so if you need anything while you are here, I would be happy to email you my number.

Hi Dottie - Your post made me cry. I feel EXACTLY how you feel!! My surgery is scheduled for March 20th and I am SO afraid of something happening to me and not being here for my children. YET at the same time BEING HERE for them is one of the main reason I WANT to do this. I wish I had words to comfort you, but all I can say is I understand. And I will pray for you!! That God will grant you an uneventful surgery, recovery and peace to know you are doing a GREAT thing for you and your family!! I am here if you need someone to talk to that understands. Email me any time!! Good luck!!

Dottie- read your update about your children. I have 2 daughters 13 and 17. I want to be a better role model for them health wise and that is why I am doing this, for them and meand my hubby!! Notice my husband is 3rd on the list? You will be able to do so much with them now. I read posts from people saying they can run with their kids so much better after surgery. Good luck to you and God Bless. You will be fine.....really-CT Cheryl

Dottie, best wishes to you for an uneventful surgery and a recovery thats as quick and painfree as possilbe. This is a quote from my grandmothers favorite book that she gave me as a gift. "But if in your thought you must measure time into seasons, let each season encircle all the other seasons, and let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing" (Kahil Gibran)
