Vocalist Wonders When to Sing Again

Does anybody have any ideas when a professional vocalist should consider doing gigs again? My RNY surgery is coming up Feb 2nd and I can't seem to find any answers. Even my doc isn't sure. I need to book myself out but don't know if my diaphragm will allow me to "belt" it out as usual. I canceled engagements for Feb and Mar. but is 2 months enough? Anybody out there sing or know how your diaphragm felt?
