1-3-07  I am 40 yrs old and married to Glenn for 8 yrs and have  3 children. My husband has been very supportive through my thought process about the surgery. My oldest daughter is my strength and she along with my husband, and my sister Pam are my biggest fans .

I have been overweight for almost 20 years and have literally felt miserable. When I heard about this surgery I went to checking  it out .I have researched this surgery for about three years now. It has my name written all over it.It was just finding an insurance company that would cover it.I've known alot of people that have had this surgery and they have done awesome. I'm very excited to be able to go through this process and look forward to being healthy.

2-5-07  Well one more day and I can't wait ...Although I am very nervous and a lil upset my hubby tells me yesterday because he has a lil sinus cold hes not coming...Talk about being upset...I cried ...So other than that emotional roller coaster I am on I'm good. I'm very scared but i'll be ok

2-9-07   Well today is my first full day home I actually came home on Thursday afternoon. Dr Freeman was so proud of how I was doing. I was glad to be going home . I'm doing ok still a lil sore and real tender on my left side but I'm drinking my water, using my spirometer and walking. My friend Mia is here  taking good care of me cleaning my drains oh by the way, I can't wait to get those things out. I wish they were coming out before 3pm on Tuesday. Everything else seems to be doing well sometimes I don't feel like walking, but I know if I don't what can happen. So I do it Mia had me walking around walmart in decatur for about 45 minutes that cart was definitely  my friend...lol  .....till next time my friends

2-13-07 Well Today I go back to Dr Freemans to get my drain tubes out...I'm very excited these things are very annoying. I know that they are there for a purpose but man are they just worry some. But other than that I'm feeling so much better and this was all worth it ...NO REGRETS!!

2-16-07  Well...I went to Dr freemans Office on Tuesday and they would not take my drains out until I did another swallow test ...well guess what ? I ended back in the hospital because I had a delayed leak #3 for Dr Freeman.. But I will say this thank God for the drains because without them who knows what may have happened.. Now i'm back home and on TPN IV and go back to his office on Thursday the 22nd to see if its been healed and the drain tubes can be removed... we shall see keep praying for me..I have no fever so far ...and I'm in no pain just a lil bored sitting and reclining I try to keep my mind positive  so that I can move forward... Dr freeman and his staff is the best!!

2-24-07 Well today is Sunday and I had to call the Dr office last night cause I could not hold the antibiotic down that he gave me. So we had to stop taking that per Dr freeman. I go  back next Thursday to anniston in the hopes whats left of my leak is healed. They took out the left drain tube last Thursday. The right drain was not quite ready still had a trickle of a leak.So to be on the safe side they left the right side in for another week.So i'm still on the TPN (Total Proper Nutrition) through the IV .But I'm still feeling good and staying positive. Things happen to us for a reason and this too shall pass. I still have no Regrets and would do it again if given the chance. My motto nothing comes easy in life and you just got to keep you chin up .Thats exactly what I'm doing .Dr Freeman and his staff are wonderful and definitely care about you as their patient.

3-6-07 Well today I'm one month out and all I can say is this has been one "wild " ride.First the leak then an abcess in the middle of my chest the size of a small orange. But now I got that took care of I can only hope I'm on the road to recovery. Again, I can't stress enough how wonderful Dr.Freeman and his staff has treated me.They are definitely one of a kind thats for sure. I feel 10 times better thats for sure. Foranyone reading my profile thats thinking about having this surgery let me tell you this... I would do it over again in a heartbeat I have no REGRETS!!! These are just bumps in my lil road. No matter what kind of surgery you have theres always risks and complications... But I'm doing great today...ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!
