The Journey To A NEW HEALTHIER ME

Dec 05, 2008

Had VSG Surgery in Puerto Vallarta with Dr. Joya on 11/21/2008

Home from Mexico and learning how to use my new weight loss tool.

Having a hard time getting protein and water goals in the day.  Never knew water could cause indigestion.  But I need to remember I am still healing, learning, and adjusting to my new stomach.  A big things is the mental hunger.  Even thanksgiving when we were all gathered to eat, I tried to fit in and take a little food and eat very few bites and socialize.  Funny how much food is involved in the choices we make each day.  Even portion sizes, how can they eat that much.  Even the children's plates seemed very full.  After a few times of over estimating quantity, I now measure each meal.  Not fun to over eat, not even a bite.  IT WON'T STAY..and you feel terrible.

I am anxious to begin seeing and feeling results.  Still so happy I made this decision.

SURGERY TOMORROW

Nov 20, 2008

I am here in Mexico and settled in with my directions from the Dr.'s Office.  I will arrive at 8:00AM for some pre-test, a little blood work and then on my way.

For now, my husband and I will settle in and watch a movie and relax before my big day.  I am ready and excited to begin my journey to a healthier me.

Surgery Date Set....Less Then A Month

Oct 31, 2008

I have made my final decission and have my surgery date set.  I am traveling to Mexico but have decided to head to Puerto Vallarta and have surgery with Dr. Joya.  He is well respected in his community and is know as a wonderful surgeon, not just a weight loss surgeon.

The entire process was very easy thus far and I am really looking forward to starting my weight loss journey.

21 Days and Counting!!!!!

Steps Forward

Sep 15, 2008

I have made contact with Dr.  Alvarez's office and I am one step closer to making my dream of a smaller healthier Diane come true.  I have hope once again that I do have options.  When I have discussed my weight issues with my medical doctor, I was told I either did not qualify or that I would have to gain weight to qualify for bariatric surgery.  The gastric sleeve sounds like the best choice for someone with a lower BMI.  It also has less complications than other surgical choices.
