9 Years out...
Mar 08, 2010
I am at 9 years today. I am healthy. I am slight. I run, I ride my horses, and my joints stopped hurting, within 6 months of having surgery. I can't say that this is a surgery to take lightly; it is not. It is life-changing. Your mind must accept change. Your moods may be different. You may look in the mirror and still see the heavy you. Body image is in our minds. We need to accept and love our changing selves. Relationships sometimes do not survive, following surgery. Clothes shopping will no longer be a chore. A word of advise... Take your vitamins, supplements and such. If you don't, you will regret it. Iron and B-12 are important. Calcium, vitamin D and protein supplements are important. Don't neglect these things. I miss meat. I cannot eat much of it, as it seems to 'clog' or fill me up. Don't approach this huge change in your life without researching it fully. Don't just think of a skinny you, skipping down the street, turning into a babe and catching the eye of all the fellas. Look at it more deeply than that. Much more deeply. It's about more than body image and pretty clothes. Soooo much more... Good Fortune to you. I hope you do well with this, as I have.
