I was 25 years old when I started the process toward getting Roux~en~Y gastric bypass 26 when I finally had the surgery. At my heaviest I was 289 lbs. I was having trouble getting pregnant due to my weight ,on top of it if I did get pregnant at that weight I was I would just gain more. I had horrible back and knee problems. At 25 I felt like I was 60 years old. On Sept 25th 2007 ( my re-born again birthday ) I started my journey to a new healthier me! I was only in the hospital for one night and at the mall the next day. I was a little sore and tired but other then that I did great. By new years of that year 3 months I was down to 200 lbs.... 90 lbs lost. It took me a total of 9 months to get down to 135 lbs. Keep in mind that I followed my Doctors instructions by the book and was focused. This was like winning the lottery for me I wasnt about to blow it! Non related to my surgery I divorced my first husband. Met my DH Jim, married in 2009 and have had 2 beautiful sons. I gained very weight during pregnancy and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a week after giving birth.
I would do it over again in a heart beat. Before I would run into people and they wouldnt know who I was because I had gained so much weight.... now they dont know me for the exact opposite reason.
