Carilion Memorial

"I only had problems with them 1 time. I called the nurses station to tell them that my stockings were turned off and that makes your legs very hot, sweaty and itchy. They kept saying that someone would be there as soon as possible, I called twice. No one ever came so I took them off (velcro)...during the same time, my IV ran out of solution, I called a 3rd time. They came right away when I said that my IV was out of solution. I told her about the stockings and she said I didn't have to put them back on. I went for a walk and as long as I walked I didn't need to have them on any longer."

Heathcliff Quioco

"I saw Dr. Quioco on 1/15/04. I made my consult appt. on 12/23/03. I liked him very much. He is straight forward and to the point, very frank. No sugar coating. He took lots of time to answer all of my questions, didn't rush me at all. Asked me 3 times if I had any more questions. He requires that my husband come with me on the second visit so he can discuss all of this with him also. I talked to one lady who was very helpful and nice. When I went in, though, there was someone with NO personality at all working as the receptionist, but that's ok, we made it through. His nurse was very nice. I liked her alot. There was someone that seemed to be in training in the front office too and she seemed very friendly. He wanted to know why I wanted the surgery and he said to me "You know you could die?" That's ok, he needs to say that. He told me all about the risks of surgery. I believe that surgical competence in this case is most important, he was nice enough and willing to answer my questions. That's all I need with this kind of surgery. I don't need a salesman. "
