I've lost 13 pounds and am doing great.  Got to eat some mashed potatoes and they were wonderful.  I do get "emotional" hunger pains.  Learning to deal with them.  Feeling great.  So glad I made this step.

Had surgery on 4/1/11 in Mexicali with Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos.  Both great physicians.  Very caring, attentive and knowledgeable. I recommend Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos highly.    Arrived at hospital for tests on 3/31.  Had lab work, ekg, xray and spoke with doctos for 45 minutes.  We were in and out in 2 and 1/2 hours.  Unbelievable.  Everything was coordinatated perfectly and each person knew what do do. Surgery on Friday. Up walking around and very little pain.  Saturday feeling great and went home Sunday, even drove part of the way home.  Very little discomfort.  Drinking clears--broths, jello, etc.  Band really works. Not hungry--OMG!!!!  I've lost five pounds since surgery. I wish they would have had this 30 years ago.  It would have saved me a lot of anguish over not being able to lose weight.

Only three more days til surgery.  Excited and nervouce.  Went on Atkins diet lost 6 pounds for surgery.  Family supportive, some co-workers negative.

I have my lap band surgery scheduled on April 1 with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali.  After going through my insurance companies requirements, I found that I may not qualifty and the cost would be approximately the same.  I did research and picked Dr. Aceves because of good ratings and proximity to my home. I start the pre-op diet next week.  I'm excited and nervous.  Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I decided to have lap-band surgery about a month ago.  After checking into my insurance, I found out that I need to have supervised medical weight loss for six months.  I went to my doctor last Wednesday and started the process.  In about 3 months, I will contact the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona to start their process.  Hopefully by August I will have the surgery and be on my way to a new life style.
