Hi Debbie, I so hope this finds you well! From time to time, I come to your profile to catch up on how you are doing health wise. I am now 2 1/2 years postop myself having lost 225 lbs (from 367 to 142) and have gone through 3 rounds of reconstructive PS. I don't know if you remember me telling you this or not, but I was also diagnosed with Hashimotos years ago (prior to my WLS). While never diabetic, I've been dealing with VERY low blood sugars (sometimes in the 40's and even 30's) and occassional high sugars (as high as 280). My a1c is normal and my PCP says I don't have diabetes. I also have very palpable lymph glands, and just last week had 3 on my neck CAT scanned to rule out any mass. CAT scan showed no mass but did show a large goiter which I'll be having checked out soon. My symptoms range from intermittent arthritic type pain in my hands, arms and knees as well as neck pain and low back pain, low blood sugars, low blood pressure with either slow or fast resting pulse, fainting or getting very close to fainting, inability to tolerate cold at my extremities, fatique and generalized depression. I would love to keep in contact with you from time to time as it seems we share a lot in common in terms of our medical histories and questions. Please feel free to email me any time at [email protected] .

Hi Debbie :) I came here to wish you another happy anniversary since your WLS and wound up reading your profile in full. Thank you so for sharing your experience with the full body lift in such depth. I take it that you are fully recovered from it? Do you feel it was worth it even with the pain and infections? I like to think that I won't need any reconstructive surgery, but I also started out super MO (at 367 lbs) and am already dealing with MAJOR excess skin at only 7 months postop. I am terrified of pain and got woozy just dealing with the one drain and tiny incisions from my lap RNY. LOL Thank you also for sharing your weight loss for each month. My weight loss has been paralleling (sp?) yours almost "to a T" so knowing that you were able to take off over 200 lbs gives me GREAT hope and helps to calm my fears that I may not be "losing fast enough" :) As for the Hashimotos and dizzy/fainting spells, I so hope you are feeling better. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 2 years ago although I think it is more or less in remission most of the time. Thank you again and know that I'll be keeping you in my thoughts! I sure hope to see you at the next Coastal Center for Obesity holiday party which is set for next Sunday, December 14th. Many smiles :) Caroline
