The big C
Jan 13, 2008
Well, it would appear that as a part of my journey with weight loss, I get to go thru cancer.
More pressure to try and not eat through!
In making a long story short, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Dec 5th at 11:11am. A grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. All contained in the one lump on the right side. I went through more testing and surgery was scheduled for Jan. 2. So far, I have been able to maintain my weight so I guess that is a good thing!
Because of the grade of the tumor, I have to go through chemo treatments. It may sound sick but maybe I can get a handle on losing weight because I will be getting sick from the treaments. Sad, huh? Well, chemo is to start on Jan 24th and go for 16 weeks. A short run it seems to me but I am very thankful for that. God has been very good to me
I know I am suppoe to eat a lot of protein and really focus on good nutrition. I had heard from a friend that cancer feeds on sugar so for the last 2 years, I have been feeding this tumor (in my mind anyway). Also part of the treament can cause strain on the heart so I have to have tests for that. I am hoping that reality sets in and I get off the sugar and high fat stuff. Pray for me please!
