Surgery Date has changed AGAIN! I can't believe this! Is someone trying to tell me that I SHOULDN'T have this done???? The Dr. is going out of town and they had to reschedual 7 people. My 3rd new date is for Feb. 16. Sure hope this one sticks!!!

Dr. Steward is very laid back and a nice person. He was dressed in jeans and a polo shirt. Did I mention he is REALLY good looking?!?! I left his office with a surgery date in hand and I never thought it possible except in my wildest dreams! Thank you so much Dr. Steward for being so nice, prompt (never had to wait a bit) and fulfilling all my expectations!

I am so sorry, Debbi. However, I am glad that the only reason you would have had to pay upfront is because you were "out of network". Now that you found another dr things should go smooth. God Bless

10/09/03 I'm back to square one. Starting this entire process over with a new surgeon. I got approved by insurance, I had a surgery date and was within 7 days of surgery and only 4 days to leave when I was contacted by the BTC make payment arrangements for my portion of the surgery... Totaling $41,000 Turns out, my insurane would only pay $6,000 of the $47,000 bill because I was "out of Network". Well, I can't afford that. So I was left with no choice but to cancel surgery and begin a search for someone within network, no matter how far away they were, that I felt had acceptable credentials. So I have now changed Dr's. My new Dr is Brent Steward. Hope to have good luck with him. I hear he's pretty good.

Debbi, I'm sorry for your struggles! You've come so far, and while this may seem to be the end of the road, there are alternatives! You could try to push the insurance to cover a greater amount; try the Lindstrom fellow; or try someone else in another state or even another country. I had my surgery in Mexico for about $8200 (travel, surgeon, etc.), complete. I understand that there are some surgeons in Arkansas, Oklahoma and other places that cost less than $15,000. Keep your chin up and keep trying. Believe me... it's worth every penny I paid, even though it just about pushed me to bankruptcy (not quite, just thought about it real hard lately). However, I'm 2 months & 2 weeks out and down 60 pounds, off my blood pressure meds, and trying to sleep without my CPAP machine. Please e-mail me if you want to discuss your situation further.
