I was a "big-boned" girl pretty much all my life. In fact, my dad's pet name for me was "Moose." I don't remember thinking about it very much until after I gained about 50 lbs during my first pregnancy and never lost the majority of it. Through the years, like a lot of people, I lost and regained weight time and time again only to ultimately end up at my heaviest weight ever and also my present weight of 260 lbs. This is actually my second attempt to have gastric bypass surgery. In 2004, while covered under an Aetna policy, I tried to get the surgery approved, however, they didn't feel it was medically necessary and after several appeals, I finally just gave up. Here's hoping I have better luck this time
