One Week Post-Op and Down 9 lbs.

The doctor appt went fine and I was down 9 lbs. That was shocking to me, but I guess it makes sense. It's weird to be losing weight without "dieting", but I am actually dieting because I'm not eating anything with any real calorie value at all. It just doesn't seem like it because I'm not hungry. Anyway, I can add V8 juice and diluted cream soups in a couple days and pureed foods on 10/29. No "real" food until 11/4 and I'm nervous about that. In the meantime, more liquids, SF Jello, SF instant breakfast, etc., etc.

Six days post-op and feeling pretty good. My tummy is still bloated feeling, kinda like being pregnant. I can't believe I've been on liquids for almost a whole week, but it's easy now that I just have a little pouch to satisfy instead of my old stomach. I'm feeling fine, walking, and sipping all day. We'll see what the doctor says tomorrow!
Blood Test was Fine - Surgery is ON!

So, I had my blood test and my hemoglobin was actually 12.5, so I told Dr. Johnson and he said it sounds great and we're good to go for October 8th...Just 11 days now. Wow, that's not even two weeks, that's just 11 days. I'm excited and very nervous. My whole life is going to change!

I feel so important - that I actually have a blog now. What the heck is this world coming to? Ha ha. Well, the only thing of note now is I am having a blood draw on Friday and my darn hemoglobin had better be high enough so I can still have my surgery on 10/8/08. I have my preop history and physical on 10/6/08, and I have a gall bladder ultrasound on 10/1/08. Whew. That's a lot, but lord knows I've been jumping through hoops to have this surgery since February, so what's a few more weeks. **I'm Nervous!!**
