You lose some you gain some. I've gaind back all I lost on that diet and more besides over Christmas. At my pre-op visit I weighed 253#. Then later DH asked how much I weighed --one of life's more embarrassing moments when you have to admit you weigh mor than he does.

Finally things feel like they are falling into place. My surgery is scheduled for January 19.2009. I lost like four pounds on the stupid six month diet. I am so ready to quit being fat. I just hope food doesn't control my life like it does now. I feel like I am addicted to sweets. Like it is more than just bad habits. I have stroung physical and emotional urges for food. I hope I can break that cycle with this surgery. I want to still be slim five years from now.
I have my treadmill and am exercising at 2.4-2.5 mph and a 2-4% incline for 60 minutes. I have also quit smoking--24 days smoke free. Next week I plan to give up soda. Boy will that be a big step because I love my soda.
January 5th is my pre-op visit, then it's the two week liquid diet then surgery. Ya hoo!

I am in month three of my Dr. supervised diet. I bought a treadmill to exercise with. But wouldn't you know it I stumbled down some stairs and tore my calf muscle and haven't bee able to exercise for three weeks. Needless to say I've gained back a pound of the 12 pounds I lost in the first two months.
I've had my pshch eval, Lord only knows if I passed it! When I get it back I will get my cardiac cath from the hospital and send them off to Margie. I should be able to take care of that this week. Then I diet and wait.
I hope things go smoothly, my neice's wedding is in June.

My PCP gave the A-OK for the surgery. I thought he would be reluctant, but he thought is was a good idea. I have several co-morbid conditions (slpeep apnea, venous insuffiency, GERD, stress incontinence.) Also, my sister is 400+ lbs and is a type II diabetic.
He had used Dr Hornbostel before and felt very comfortable sending me there. Which was exciting for me because several women on this site had highly recommended Dr. H. I felt really good after seeing him. My medicare kicks in July 1st so we will wait until then to really get the ball rolling. However, I do intend to attend the seminar this weekend.
