Taking a moment out to vent a little bit...
Nov 28, 2006
Venting commences...
1) I really hate it when people don't call you back. I realize I'm not the only patient these people have, but it is still annoying. It's also annoying when they leave you a message, but don't give you the information you asked for. Um, hello?
2) My pulmonologist put in his letter that he clears me pending the EKG results, but he won't make a determination on the EKG results. Ok, I understand that that is not his specialty, but now I have to hunt down the cardiologist's office and have THEM write a letter which of course they won't just do. They want to see me. Sigh...ok, I can do that. NEVER in a million years would I have expected the doctor to say..."your results are normal, but I want you to do a stress test to be sure". Are you kidding me? Why wasn't this discussed a month ago when I went for the original echo/EKG? I have to do a two-part stress test next week and then beg them to dictate the information STAT so my information can finally be sent to insurance. I am SO out of sorts now.
3) I've called my insurance company on 2 separate occasions and they won't tell me what requirements I have to meet. Someone shared with me that I'm entitled to a position paper. The woman got all snippy with me, put me on hold, came back >5 minutes later and proceeded to say, i'm sorry...I can't give that to you...you need your provider to call. DEEP BREATHING...So, I'm not allowed to know what my benefits are? GIVE ME A BREAK.
ok...done with my mini-vent now.
