05/26/10  OK, haven't been on here for a while...can't get all of my profile from 2005 so I will just copy what I can.
I am now at 141#, BMI is normal (kinda weird!!). Maintained a weight of around 185# until about 6 months ago, then lost a bunch since then. The only thing I am thinking is that I changed jobs and am now running around a lot. I STILL can't have more than 4-5 grams of sugar per serving or I dump like crazy! Great for me!!!  I am down to a size 10...from a 28-30. I am really conscious of the sagging skin...other people don't notice, but I DO!  I still am not comfortable in my body - still can't believe I am in the NORMAL range.

6/30/05 I go for my pre-op testing on Tuesday, July 5, at Harper Hospital. It should only take an hour or so.

As it gets closer to my date, I am beginning to get a little anxious, but very excited. I've got friends and family that are already asking me for my clothes! I've got boxes and bags full of clothes in a few sizes - I am set up for quite a while. I have ordered different kinds of protein powder and vitamins, and have my pain meds and blood thinner injections put away for when I get home from the hospital.

7/05/05 I went for my pre-op testing today at Harper Hospital. I got there about an hour early (traffic was very light) and they started on me right away. Everyone was very nice - the women taking the blood and EKG were great, the guy giving the xray was very nice, and the doctor and I sat out in the lobby watching "Jaws" on TV! I was concerned about the epidural and the scar on my back from the two spinal surgeries, but I was told not to worry because the epi would be placed above the scar and would not cause any problems. My BP was within a good range (124/76), and my temp was 96.5.
8 more days and one wake up!!!

8/04/05 weigh in today - three weeks post op: 275.5, BMI:48.7!!!!
Lost 35.5#

8/15/05 Went into the ER today - can't keep anything down. They are going to keep me overnight and do a scope tomorrow to see if there is a stricture.

Had the scope done and there was a stricture, as well as a small ulcer. Now I can eat again!!!

9/08/05 Went back to work today - very tired but happy to be doing something As of 9/07/05, I have lost 51# (259), BMI 44.5.

9/23/05 Scheduled another scope today - having the same problem I had in August. This time it was very quick - in and out within 1-1/2 hours. Got my glossy pics to take home and show to everybody! Hopefully, this will be the last time I have to have a scope done.

10/01/05 Weighed in today - I have lost 63# (247), BMI 42.4. I am eating a more variety of foods and keeping most of them down. My pouch does get a little grouchy at times, but I am learning not to eat as fast and gulp my food like I used to.

10/11/05 I have decided to become a Chapter Leader and run a support group here in the metro Detroit area. I need to take 3 courses and OH gives all the training that I need. I already took my first class last night (VERY informative!) and the second one I will take tonight. The third class is scheduled for Oct 29.
I decided to do this because all of the support groups that I know of are all on the east side and there is nothing here on the west side.
I am very excited about this - support groups are so helpful for keeping on track and learning as much as I can about my pouch and how to take care of it. Very cool!
