Well here it is Thursday and Ruth is home. She made the hour ride home from NY like a trooper. I called her and 6:00 and Mal was fixing her dinner. Refried beans and Caulifower. She can actually have OATMEAL. I love oatmeal, but I can't have it. Anyway, she said she feels good and is ready to start walking on the treadmill. GO RUTH GO BUT SLOWLY. Well I actually spoke to Ruth tonight and she sounds like she is in good spirits. She has a sore throat. The fever is still there, but perhaps it is from the sore throat. She is eating a little. The gave her mashed taters, mashed carrots and salmon. I wish I got that. I would kill for mashed taters. All I can eat is PROTEIN. Ruth is looking forward to coming home and relaxing in her new chair. HAPPY THOUGHTS and DREAM A LITTLE DREAM RUTH. Love ya Lauren

Mal, Ruth's husband called to tell me the update. Ruth is doing okay. She has a low fever and she is a little worried that there might be a leak. The doctor is not concerned about it. The cut or actually a bruise that we thought Ruth had on her lip turned out to be dye from the tube, because it was gone today. Mal said she is better, but the dumb nurses gave Ruth Gatorade instead of Crystal lite and of course it made her sick. She was able to drink some broth and tea, but couldn't eat the jello because it was too sweet. She is doing her breathing exercises really good. She is already up to 2250. I didn't even do that good when I went into the hospital. We all thought, based on what the doctor said that she would have to remain in recovery until the morning, but as it turned out she was wheeled out at 2:00 am in the morning. She walked the hall 7 times before Mal even got there, gosh she did better than me. Mal said the cutest thing to me tonight. He said that Ruth even looked a little thinner already. I told him he hasn't seen anything yet. Wait until next week and the week after. She will become the incredible shrinking woman. Tonight before Mal left, she still had a fever of 100.4. I sure hope that the fever goes down soon. I will update again tomorrow. Goodnight Ruth Dream Happy Thoughts Like I do Now. Love ya Lauren

Hi Ruth, Can you believe it? You made it to the otherside smooth and easy. You are doing great. Keep up the walking. Mal said you are doing just great.
